What are the active ingredients in Slim Cycle™? December 31, 2014 07:17

SlimCycle contains a unique combination of ingredients that work at the cellular level to provide a multi-functional approach to help the body power through the weight loss plateau.

  • Green tea extract (epigallocatechin gallate): Renowned for centuries for its health giving properties, green tea is now the center of research for its ability to influence weight loss. Laboratory and/or clinical research has shown that green tea extract can increase 24-hr energy expenditure, reduce body fat accumulation, help burn body fat and aid in weight maintenance after weight loss.
  • Green coffee bean extract (chlorogenic acid): Green unroasted coffee beans are one of the latest weapons in the fight against body fat. Ordinary coffee is made by roasting green coffee beans, which alters the chemical make-up of the coffee bean. Interestingly, researchers have discovered that unroasted green coffee beans provide a unique antioxidant mixture and are naturally rich in chlorogenic acid and caffeine, which offer a synergistic effect when it comes to activating fat metabolism.
  • Citrus aurantium: Widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and often referred to as Zhi shi or bitter orange, Citrus aurantium contains a variety of ingredients, including synephrine that help boost the body’s metabolism. In addition, its ability to stimulate beta-3 adrenergic cellular receptors has made it the ingredient of choice for enhancing fat breakdown.
  • Caffeine: Known the world over for its ability to boost energy and enhance mental clarity, caffeine also increases the body’s basal metabolic rate or ability to burn calories. This combination of benefits makes it the ideal ingredient for a weight loss formula.
  • Evodiamine: Derived from the fruit of the Evodia plant, evodiamine is an alkaloid that works as a cellular signaling agent to stimulate fat utilization and reduce fat cell accumulation. Emerging research also indicates evodiamine can interact with a thermogenic protein that helps the body burn energy as heat.
  • Naringenin: Found in grapefruit and other citrus fruits, naringenin is a bioactive flavonoid that inhibits cytochrome P450 enzymes that are produced by the liver. Inhibiting these enzymes, which metabolize a variety of compounds, increases the time calorie and fat burning compounds, such as caffeine, remain in the body.
  • cAMP (cyclic adenosyl monophosphate): A naturally occurring cellular messenger in the body that plays a role in numerous physiological functions. One of its roles as a cellular activator is its ability to signal the breakdown of stored fat.
  • Cobalamins (cyano-, methyl- and S-adenosyl-cobalamin): This unique group of compounds provides three different forms of vitamin B12, an essential nutrient that is critical for efficient cellular metabolism, energy production, and the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
